Displaced
The Displaced project, by Chilean visual artist Guillermo del Valle, seeks to raise awareness of the importance of wetlands conservation, given the degradation they are suffering as a result of human activities and the global warming crisis. In its first edition in 2021, organized by the Sustainable Art Association, two exhibitions were held in Chile, at the National Museum of Natural History in Santiago and at the Cultural Park of Valparaíso, where the artist showed more than 30 birds of the Tunquén wetland, painted on old hammock and beach tarpaulins rusted by the sun, humidity and bird droppings, also mixing with newer tarpaulins, contrasting recycled material with other first-use material.
The project succeeded in highlighting the deterioration of the avifauna in wetlands and in calling for the care of these ecosystems, which are so necessary for biodiversity.
